No matter what side of the abortion debate you are on, everyone who actually knows what an abortion is would have to agree that abortion is a violent act. In abortion an unborn child is removed from the womb of its mother in a violent manner that causes the death of the unborn child. It makes sense, then, that if one of our goals is to reduce the amount of violence in our society a great place to start would be to ban one of the most violence acts against human life, the violence of abortion.
