The backdrop of the life-affirming booth that I used to help run at our local county fair had the words, “Abortion Stops a Beating Heart,” in big, bold letters. I had many interesting conversations with those who stopped by the booth.

When people are nearing the end of their lives their heartbeats are monitored very closely. Once a heartbeat can no longer be detected a person is declared dead.

On the other end of life’s spectrum the tiny hearts of unborn children start beating just a few weeks after they are conceived in their mothers’ wombs. Abortion, even at its earliest stages, stops a beating heart.
