“The greatest destroyer of peace is abortion because if a mother can kill her own child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me? There is nothing between.” Mother Teresa (https://www.catholic.org/clife/teresa/quotes.php, accessed 8-26-2024)
When an abortion is “successful” the unborn child dies. When an abortion fails, which actually has happened on numerous occasions, the child is born alive. Then what do you do? It should come as no surprise that some people think that if an abortion fails to kill the baby the child should be killed anyway. They have even come up with a term to describe it: after-birth abortion.
This raises a number of the questions: How much time after the child is born alive should the mother have to decide whether or not to finish the job of killing her child? Should steps be taken to end the newborn child’s life or should the child just be left to die?
