Sometimes it makes a difference just to state the obvious: it takes two people to create an unborn child, a father and a mother. Yet in our world only one of the people who created the child has any say on the life of an unborn child, the mother. The father, without whom the child could not have been conceived, has no say in the life of the child. This is true whether the two parents are married or not. A man has no say over the life of the unborn child that his wife is carrying.
