My church body, The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, is willing to allow abortion to occur only in one situation: when a pregnancy is putting the mother’s life in danger. These instances are very rare and when they do occur a woman should get as much information about the situation as possible including, if necessary, getting a second opinion.
