“Don’t give up! I believe in you all. A person’s a person, no matter how small.” From the children’s book “Horton Hears a Who” (https://bookroo.com/quotes/horton-hears-a-who, accessed 10-2-2024)
“Horton Hears a Who,” is a beloved children’s book by Dr Seuss. It tells the story of an elephant named Horton who finds a speck of dust floating in the Jungle of Nool. Upon investigation of the speck, Horton discovers the tiny city of Who-ville and its residents, the Whos, which he can hear but cannot see. Horton forms a friendship with the mayor of Who-ville, and promises to transport Who-ville to safety. However, Horton encounters opposition from his jungle neighbors, who don’t want to believe in the existence of Who-ville.
The book could also be a summary of what life-affirming people are dealing with as they seek to convince people that unborn children, even though we can’t see them, are real and should be protected. A person’s a person no matter how small or invisible!
