Is abortion murder? If unborn children are considered human beings with the same legal status as those who are born, then to deliberately end their lives through abortion is murder. This has been the view of many life-affirming people all along. I think that the strongest penalties should be in place for those who choose abortion. Certainly a doctor who performs an abortion should lose his or her license to practice medicine. But I’m not sure that those who perform abortions should be punished as severely as those who murder people who have already been born.
