While going through some old photos recently I came across the photos I had taken at a Picasso exhibit at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City several years ago. I know not everyone appreciates Picasso’s work but I think these works can help us through this difficult time.
“Bust of a Man Writing” was completed by Picasso two years before he died in 1973.
The worry and concern we all feel at this time is portrayed in this work called “Female Bust”.
“Mother and Child” simple but powerful.
“Pregnant Woman” bronze sculpture. Picasso was not only a painter but also a sculptor.
“Head of a Bearded Man” I think we all have days when we feel like this man looks.
“Male Head” Whether he is bowing his head in prayer or exhaustion I don’t know.
To see my post on the Picasso exhibit that I posted shortly after attending the exhibit click here. The exhibit details the connection between Picasso’s art and the art of Africa and led me to a whole new appreciation for Picasso’s work.
